Life

Wow, it really has been a long time since I last posted here. Life is crazy these days. I feel like I am on a roller coaster with steep drops and torrential climbs. My health is well, not great. I was dx with an auto-immune disease called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. It is associated with Hypothyroidism. It affects the thyroid. In a nutshell, my immune system is slowly "eating" away my thyroid down to nothing. My disease has just wiped me out. I am so tired all the time. I have gained 30+ lbs and it is VERY hard to take off because my metabolism is regulated by my thyroid. There are tons of other issues that go along with it that I have to deal with too. If you would like to read up on it, there is a good article about it here and here. So I am learning to eat for my disease and doing lots of yoga(which still hurts btw!!). I havent been able to knit for a long time. I have been to busy with drs and my new biz that there just isnt time. I really miss it and would like to get back to it soon!! The new biz I am talking about is my Candle business. I am an Independent Consultant for Partylite Candles. It so much fun and I get to have all sorts of great smelling candles and accessories in my home. I am enjoying getting to meet new peeps too! My fam is doing well. I just got to spend a night with the hubby. He just got home after about 5 days away. It was nice to just lay with him and catch up on everything. He is so amazing. I cant believe that we have been together for almost 9 yrs! He has really been my rock through all of the crap that has been happening lately. I dont know what I would do without him. I think I have caught you all up on the latest. I will try and get on here more often to give you the scoop. Take care peeps. I hope things are wonderful wherever you are! xo

OUCHIE!!!!!!

Yoga + Me= No Zen, And that is all I have to say about that!!

Sunday, September 2, 2007

A couple things

I need more Zen!

I have decided that knitting isnt enough calm for me anymore. So I have decided to start learning the art of yoga. Yes me, a Yogi!!! I watched a workout on TV and felt so relaxed. I just watched, imagine how I would feel if I actually did it. We'll see how it goes and update you with progress!!

Back to Knitting... Finally!!

My good friend from High School is having her first baby in a few days. :o) Ahhh, babies. So I have decided to pick up my sticks(first time in weeks) and knit that kid some sockies. I am going to try and knit a hat too. I figure if it doesnt get done I have a few weeks to knock it out before it gets chilly. I am using a little CTH for poshness and maybe a little sockotta too!! Then a little acrylic(I know, I know) to withstand all those washings!! A few....dozen, ahem pairs should be just right dont'cha think? heehee

Oh, I started a candle business! It is so fun so far. I will blog on this later. I miss blogging so much. Finding the time here lately is hard. I promise to get on here and share the news with you all more often. Till next time peeps, keep knittin!! :o)

For those of you who are still waiting or havent signed up, it is SOOOO worth the wait!

PS: I know that it has been awhile since I blogged. There have been some medical issues that I have been trying to figure out. I am still in the testing and "try this" stage. But as soon as I get a chance, I will bring you all up to speed!! XO's to all! Keep knittin Peeps.

Does this mean I am getting old?

I have been having lots of eye strain issues while knitting here in the last couple of months. So I broke down and went to the Eye Doctor last week. After lots of testing and time looking at that HUGE "E", Dr. says I need BIFOCALS!! What? I am only 24, I dont know many 24 yr olds with bifocals. My vision is great dont get me wrong, its just with all of the teeny tiny needles and yarn my eyes are freaking out. My hubby has been giving me serious BS about this. I started knitting and he tells me I am old, and now that I have to get these specs I am granny! WTF? I guess I cant complain too much though. I adore my needle time and with my eyes hurtin like blazes, I guess its time to suck it up and just do it! I will post pics of them as soon as I can. They should be done this week. I sure hope so, my new CTH yarn is calling nay yelling at me. Till next time peeps.

Playing catch-up!

Where to start. Soo much has happened since the last time I really blogged. Both knit and family related. Humm, ok well my daughter gave herself a black eye while playing in her bathroom. She really did a number on it. Her eye is looking better now though.

I have been knitting like crazy. Getting my sp's bag done, finishing my best friends sockies for her birthday. I have also been buying knitting stuff like crazy too. While shopping for my sp, I find things that I like grab them too! I think that is how it always works!! Swaps are so much fun, they feel like x-mas!! I really hope that my pal like all her stuff. Speaking of knitting, I recently lead a friend to the dark side!! WOOHOO She is working on her first scarf. I figured that would be the easiest thing to start with. She is doing really well. It is almost done and I will teach her how to bind-off. Maybe some pics of her knitting later. OH I have to tell you!! I was knitting outside at my moms house and the kids were all nakie playing in the water. Well my nephew who is 1 1/2, was standing by me taking a drink. He was awful quiet so I looked down at him and he was peeing into my knitting bag!! I was so mad, I scared him and he ran off. Good thing all of my stuff was either out of the bag or in plastic baggies. So after a good spraying with lysol and a long airing out, my bag had recovered! Note: No knitting tools or Yarn were harmed in this matter!!
More on my kids now. My daughter thinks that hair cutting is a sport. She has cut her hair and my sons hair TWICE in two weeks. We had to finally buzz my sons hair because his sister cut it to the scalp in 5 places! Nice huh. Kinzy is also playing T-Ball again this year. She is really doing well. I would hope so after playing the last 2 years. She played catcher last night and stopped every ball thrown to her. Her batting needs a little work but other than that she is doing great! Ty has graduated to a big bike with training wheels!! He thinks he is so big now that he can keep up with his sister. We have crashed a few times, but no major boo-boos.
Well, I think I have updated all I can update for now. More hijinks to come I am sure! Keep knitting peeps! Tasha :o)

KIP Day

Soooooo sorry this is sooooo late. Things have been crazy here!! Here are my pics from KIP Day. I knitted while at our Beef Empire Days Parade. I was working on a special suprise for a SP. I will add pics and tell you what it is later. There is so much that I need to catch you all up on. I will be doing that hopefully later today or tomorrow. Keep on knittin! xo

Yarny Cake Goodness!!

Here are the pics I promised! I cant show you the other colors now. They are for my sp and I dont want her to see them just yet!! Anyway, I am really proud of my cakes. The only problem, well question I have is this: Should the cake be soft or firm? My first cake is pretty squishey and then the other two got progressivly firmer. Anyway enjoy the Yarn PrOn. Now I am off to knit!!

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

I finally got one!! YAY

Memorial Day

Just wanted to add my two cents on this day of remembrance. Yes this is a day to remember the ultimate sacrifice made by so many of our men and women in uniform. But today is also a day to remember that we have many thousands that are still fighting for our freedom everyday. They are risking there lives and giving up their families so we dont have to. So, lets fly our flags and raise our glasses in remembrance of those we have lost and to those that are still protecting us everyday! Here's to a safe return of all of our soldiers, may you all come home soon!

Sox Box Contest Question #1

Question: What is your favorite beverage and snack while knitting, and why? Be specific!

Well, I havent been knitting that long so I dont have a ritual yet. But, when I knit I almost always have a cup - o - tea ( hot tea that is) with cream and 3 lumps. I know, I know, it goes 1 lump or 2, but 3 makes it just right! And the perfect snack with my perfect tea comes to me thanks to my kids. Bug Bites Graham Crackers!! They are so yummy and cute, I think they complement the tea perfectly! Some times though, if it is hot, I make a stop at my local Target/Starbucks and grab a Double Choc. Chip Frap. mmmmmmm yummy!! I usually dont have a snack with my frap, but sometimes I will have some Flamin Hot Cheetoes. With lots of wipe-ies for that not so good for yarn, Cheese!! :o)

First Pair DONE!!

I finally finished the "sister" to my first sock. They look and fit great! There is only a small difference in the socks, but I am not going to tell you where it is. NOW, off to start on the Super Sox Box Swap!!

Awesome Art!!

Isnt this art beautiful? Weird looking but cool! I saw this at a local festival over the weekend called "Kansas Sampler Festival". I had to take pictures to show you all these amazing and unusual works. Can anyone guess what medium this art is made from? Plaster, foam, clay? What is your guess?

Well, here is your answer!!!

That's right people Buffalo "Chips" aka Poops!!! I thought this was sooooooo funny! I almost pee'd my pants when I saw it. It really is pretty in person. No, it doesnt smell. It doesnt carry germs. I have lived here in SW KS all my life so this isnt a suprise to me, but I thought that you all might get a kick out of it!! Thanks for humoring me, and I hope you werent too grossed out.

Welcome to my Spot!

This is my VERY first blog EVER!!! I am excited to dive into the world that is blogging!! I will tell you a little about myself I guess. I am a mommy of 2 beautiful kiddos, Makinzy and Ty. They are 6 and 2 respectively. I have been married to my hubby Brandon for 6 years now! I just started knitting about 3 months ago. Mostly scarfs are coming off the needles right now. Anything else is a little intimidating still. I live in a tiny town in the middle of the plains. Not much here but Cows and Corn. I am not sure whatelse to say so I am going to go for now. I hope ya'll come back!
